Rain Barrel Guys
Recycled Rainwater Collection Barrels
So what is a Rain Barrel Anyway?
A rain barrel is any type of container used to catch water flowing from a downspout. Rain barrels reduce the amount of storm water runoff by collecting roof runoff and storing the rainwater for future use.
Rain Barrel Guys use only food-grade recycled PVC 55 Gallon Barrels. These are the safest to use for barrels…The rain barrel is placed underneath a shortened downspout, diverting the roof runoff into the rain barrel.
For every inch of rain that falls on one square foot of your roof, you can collect just over half a gallon of rainwater (0.6 gallons). For example, if you have a shed that is 10’ x 10’ and you can collect the roof runoff from all 100 square feet of your roof, you could collect 60 gallons of rainwater during a 1-inch rain event. If you were to
harness all the water off a 2000 sq. ft. home, you would have over 1200 gallons from one inch of rain!
This comes in handy during summers in Dallas. Harnessing and storing rain water is an economic and a "green" method to decrease ones water use, save money, and get green.
The water collected in rain barrels is not suitable for human consumption. Please make sure that children and pets do not drink water collected in a rain barrel.

Our new available colors, starting with brown at the top, hunter green on the right, tan on the bottom and khaki on the left. These colors are available for $20 extra. They are applied to your barrel upon ordering and you are provided with touch up paint.
We now sell pressure treated stands for the barrels to sit on top of. These stands are $20 and stand approx. 18 inches off of the ground. This allows for increased pressure out of the barrel and a secure and safe place to place the rain barrel.

Two different ways to attach your rain barrel to your gutters/downspout. Both methods require the downspout to be cut at the appropriate height, the picture on the left uses a 90 degree elbow to direct water in and the picture on the right uses a short length of flexible downspout to direct the water into the barrel.

If you do not want to cut your downspout, this pictures shows the use of a long flexible downspout.
Simply remove the downspout from the gutter at the corner, move the downspout over (this way if you want to move the barrel you can just place the downspout back into the gutter) and then screw the flexible downspout in its place. The other end of the flexible downspout will be placed in the barrel.
